Missing teeth not only affect your sense of confidence and daily quality of life, they also lead to additional dental problems when left untreated.
Dr. Radosavljevic offers a variety of options for replacing lost teeth, including dental bridges. After a comprehensive exam to determine your oral health condition, Dr. Radosavljevic will discuss your concerns, goals and budget before recommending the best option.
If you have missing teeth, you are probably choosing between dental implants or a dental bridge. Dr. Radosavljevic offers both options for replacing missing teeth and can help you determine which is best for you.
While dental implants offer the most life-like replacement for missing teeth, they are not for everyone. Things that could disqualify you as a candidate for implants include bone health, age, and location of missing teeth.
Another major difference between implants and bridges is cost. In most cases, dental implants are more expensive, however they are also less likely to need maintenance or repair and can be less expensive in the long term.
A dental bridge is a series of artificial teeth. The bridgework is supported by an anchor on either side of the gap to hold the false tooth in place.
A bridge can be supported in three ways: by natural teeth, dental implants, or a combination of the two. When the natural teeth are used to support the bridgework, a dental crown is typically placed to provide additional support and stability.
A dental bridge is a viable treatment option for anyone with one or more missing teeth. They may be either fixed or removable and our dentist can help you choose which type is right for you.
We follow a simple process for treatment with dental bridges. This process begins with a comprehensive evaluation to examine the health of the teeth, gums, jaw joints and other support structures. You may have an existing dental bridge or have teeth that need to be extracted. Regardless of your condition, the dentist will create a personalized treatment plan that fits your needs, goals and budget.
A dental bridge can either be removable or fixed. In most cases, Dr. Radosavljevic will support the choice for a fixed dental bridge as a long term solution for missing teeth. The dental bridge can either be supported by dental crowns and/or dental implants. The dentist will prepare any teeth as needed to ensure a solid foundation for the dental bridge.
The dental bridge will be fabricated in a dental laboratory. You may have a temporary bridge to wear in the intermediate time period. In approximately 2 to 3 weeks from your initial visit, you will return for the delivery of the final restoration.
How much does a dental bridge cost?
The cost of a dental bridge will depend on the number and location of the missing teeth as well as the type of bridge and materials chosen. Dr. Radosavljevic accepts all dental insurance and will handle all necessary billing and paperwork. Additionally, we offer financing through CareCredit for patients who are concerned about cost.
Can you repair broken bridgework?
Although dental bridges are built to last a long time, problems still sometimes arise. Dr. Radosavljevic does offer dental bridge repair. If a bridge happens to chip, break, or come loose, you should contact our Clearwater dentist office right away. Depending on the extent of damage, we may be able to cement the bridge or replace it all together.
How do I take care of my dental bridge?
A dental bridge should be brushed and flossed just like natural teeth. The dentist will show you a special technique to floss under and around the artificial tooth or teeth. It is also important to visit the dentist at least twice a year for routine examinations.
